What does living the James 1:26-27 life look like?

James 1:26-27 New International Version (NIV)
26 Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. 27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

Well...I haven't found a single version that included a blurb like this: And by the way, it's going to be super easy to do!  As a matter of fact, James starts out this Holy Spirit-inspired letter with some hard truth right off the bat...

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

For sure, those choosing to live this type life will be peculiar to the rest of the human race...something that sounds rather delightful to me!  As my best friend heard it put one time:  "You can pretty much take whatever the world is doing, and do the exact opposite, and you'll know you're living for God".

So hey!  Maybe I'm far off the beaten path by heading out on this journey with the Lord, but there's someone else I know who did things totally different than everyone else...my Savior, Jesus Christ.  What better way to honor Him than to blaze a new trail for His glory?  I think He thinks that this is pretty cool.

Everything on this blog spot will be a record of what it looks like to live out the James 1:27 life through the adoption process.  I invite you to come along on this quest with me.  I pray that you will find it refreshing, inspiring, encouraging, and most of all, glorifying to the Lord!

Welcome!

I'm so glad you've stopped by today!  This blog spot is a chronicle of the double promise that God has made to me as I walk out the James 1:26-27 life.  It would be my honor for you to join me on this journey of adoption, and to share in the blessings that come from walking in obedience to the Lord our God.
